Beeswax is one of nature's most versatile materials. From candles that purify air to food wraps that replace plastic, here's how to make the most of this amazing hive product.

Rendering Beeswax

Before using beeswax, you need to clean it:

  1. Melt cappings/comb in water (double boiler method)
  2. Let cool—wax floats, debris sinks
  3. Scrape debris from bottom of wax disk
  4. Remelt and strain through cloth for pure wax

⚠️ Safety Note

Beeswax is flammable! Never melt directly over heat. Always use a double boiler or dedicated wax melter. Never leave melting wax unattended.

  3. Repeat until desired thickness
